二、以研促教，以研促改，以研促发展

实施新课程，首先教师要转变教书匠的形象，要学会以研促教，以研促改，以研促发展，这样才能在真正意义上体现教师是课程的参与者和开发者;其次要转变教学行为，从真正意义上实现教师角色转变;第三，从真正意义上体现学生的主体地位，实现学生学习方式的转变，培养学生创新精神和实践能力。具体做法是：依据课改要求来制订教学计划;编写教案时将目标转换为可观察性、可检测性和可操作性;要进行课的设计;要上好课改课;教师要转变教学行为;课堂教学要实现学生的自主学习、探究学习和合作学习;课堂教学要营造一个既宽松和谐又生动活泼的学习氛围;要进行课堂教学评价(过程评价、形成性评价);要进行课后反思。

三、加强青年教师培养、带教工作

加强青年教师的带教工作，把“传---帮---带”的工作融入到我校的师资队伍的建设中，为青年教师搭建平台，快速成长。我们平时利用课余时间积极探讨多样的教学方法，在教研活动中研究新的教学理念，大家竭力在教育教学工作上给予青年老师帮助。几位青年老师从备课、上课、作业已逐步走向正规，融入学生中，教学成绩也有所提高。在教学实践课中，她们也有较出色的表现，课件的制作针对性强、效率高。在传帮带的教学中，青年教师茁壮成长，成为教学的好手。

四、参与读书节，提高学生综合素质

丰富多彩的活动是对学生学习能力、学习兴趣的激发和培养，能使学生从枯燥的学习中解脱出来，时刻置身于浓浓的学习氛围之中，通过形式多样、内容丰富、手段新颖的形式，使学生在活动中接受知识，培养能力，从多层面，多角度培养学生各方面的能力。本学期，我们参加学校举办的读书节活动，为了给学生提供展示英语水平的舞台，也为了鼓励学生冒尖，开展了中低年级的英语口语竞赛和高年级的阅读竞赛，在精心设计、预先告之、全员参与、提高实效上下功夫，办得丰富多彩。

五、无私奉献，爱岗敬业

由于学生英语基础较差，老师们都利用早、晚的业余时间义务为学生补缺补差。我们针对后进生的实际情况主动和家长联系，集中教室补课、辅导，无私奉献，对学生就像对待自己孩子，不厌其烦的纠正他们在学习上、思想上的种种缺点和错误。为了能提高学生们的每一分成绩，我们英语组的老师都有哑嗓子的经历。值得欣慰的是，学生的成绩都在不同程度上有提高。

六、英语学科教学与信息技术的整合更能促进英语语言的广泛运用。

名词可以分为专有名词(Proper Nouns)和普通名词 (Common Nouns)，专有名词是某个(些)人，地方，机构等专有的名称，如Beijing，China等。普通名词是一类人或东西或是一个抽象概念的名词，如：book，sadness等。普通名词又可分为下面四类：

1)个体名词(Individual Nouns)：表示某类人或东西中的个体，如：gun。

2)集体名词(Collective Nouns)：表示若干个个体组成的集合体，如：family。

3)物质名词(Material Nouns)：表示无法分为个体的实物，如：air。

4)抽象名词(Abstract Nouns)：表示动作、状态、品质、感情等抽象概念，如：work。

专有名词一般第一个字母要大写。专有名词前一般不加冠词。

名词的种类

物质名词与抽象名词一般无法用数目来计算，称为不可数名词。不可数名词前不能加冠词a或an来表示量。

(三)名词的数

1.可数名词有单数和复数两种形式：

1.单数

英语中，如果我们要表示一本书、一只鸟、一棵树等概念时，要用名词的单数形式，表示名词的单数，要在名词前加冠词a或an。

This is a desk .

这是一张书桌。

There is an orange on the table .

桌上有一个橘子。

an orange 一个橘子

an new orange (×) → a new orange (○)

一个新橘子

a desk

a old desk (×) → an old desk (○)

a和an的使用区别

a加在以辅音开头的名词前，如a book，a pen。

an加在以元音开头的名词前，如an egg，an apple。

有时a，an后面紧接的不是单数名词，而是a (an) +形容词+单数名词的形式。这时判断用a还是an来表示“一个”的概念时，要看形容词开头字母的发音，而不是看名词。

2.复数

英语中，如果要表示两本书、三个学生、四把椅子这些两个或两个以上的概念时，要用名词的复数形式，名词的复数形式是在单数名词后加上词尾-s或-es构成的。变复数时情况如下：

(1)一般情况下,在词尾加s.

——books,dog——dogs,pen——pens,boy——boys

以轻辅音结尾的名词后的s的读音为[s]，以浊辅音和元音结尾名词后的s读音为〔z〕。

(2)以s,x,ch,sh结尾的词名词变复数时,要在词尾加es.

——beaches,brush——brushes,bus——buses,box—boxes(es读音为〔iz〕

(3)以“辅音字母+y”结尾的名词,先变y为i,再加es.

——cities,family——families,documentary——documentaries,country——countries,

strawberry——strawberries(ies读音为[iz])

(注：以“元音字母+y”结尾的词，直接在词尾加)

(4)以元音字母。结尾的名词，变复数时情况如下：

①加—tomatoes,potato—potatoes

②结尾是两个元音字母的加s,—zoos,radio——radios

③某些外来词变复数时词尾加s,eg. piano—pianos

④一些名词的缩写形式变复数时，词尾加s,

(photograph)——photos,kilo(kilogram)kilos

⑤zero变复数时，既可加s,也可加

(5)以f或fe结尾的名词变复数时,先把f或fe变为v,再加es.

——wives,leaf leaves,half——halves,knife—knives,thief——thieves(res读音为[vz]

(注意：roof的复数为roofs; scarf的复数为scarfs/scarves)

(6)有些名词由单数变复数时，不是在词尾加s或es,而是变换其中的字母。

——men,woman——women,policeman——policemen,Englishman——Englishmen,Frenchman——Frenchmen, foot——feet, tooth——teeth, child——children,mouse—mice,Ox—Oxen(公牛)

请区别：German(德国人)—Germans (3)child—children

(7)还有一些名词的单数和复数形式相同。

li，jin，yuan，two li，three mu，four jin

但除人民币元、角、分外，美元、英镑、法郎等都有复数形式。如:

a dollar, two dollars; a meter, two meters

这些词是可数名词，且单复数形式相同，所以可以写为：

This is a fish.

These are fish.

另外，fish作为鱼肉讲时是不可数的。

There is much fish on the plate.

(8)另一些名词本身即是复数形式，不可用作单数。

eg,people,police,trousers,pants,clothes,scissors

9以s结尾，仍为单数的名词，如：

a. maths，politics，physics等学科名词，为不可数名词，是单数。

b. news 是不可数名词。

c. the United States，the United Nations 应视为单数。

The United Nations was organized in 1945. 联合国是1945年组建起来的。

d. 以复数形式出现的书名，剧名，报纸，杂志名，也可视为单数。

“The Arabian Nights” is a very interesting story-book.

<<一千零一夜>>是一本非常有趣的故事书。

9另外还有一些名词，其复数形式有时可表示特别意思，如：goods货物，waters水域，fishes(各种)鱼

另外,①当一个名词作定语说明另一个名词时，这个名词一般用单数。

apple tree,five apple trees,a girl friend,two girl friends,a twin sister

但是，当man和woman作定语修饰复数名词时，就要用其复数形式。

men teachers,three women doctors

②可用“量词+of+名词复数”这一结构表示可数名词的数量。

room Of students,two boxes Of pencils

可修饰名词的常用词：?

1) 修饰可数名词与不可数名词：some, any, a lot of, lots of, plenty of

2) 饰可数名词的有：many, (a)few, a large (great) number of?

3)只修饰不可数名词的有：much, (a)little, a great deal of

2.不可数名词一般没有复数形式，它的“量”的表示方式如下。

(1)常见的不可数名词有：water，rice，fish，meat，等。应特别记medicine,news,work,homework,housework,money,chalk,weather,cotton,wood.

(2)表不定数量时,一般用much,(a)little,a lot of/lots of,some,any等词修饰。

eg,much money,a little bread

(3)常用a piece of,a cup of等来表示不可数名词的量。如要表达“两片面包”这样的意义，bread仍为不可数名词，不加s，而piece则可加s。即：twopiecesof bread

a piece of news 一条新闻

a piece of paper 一张纸

a piece of work 一项工作

容器表示

a cup of tea 一杯茶

a glass of water 一杯水

a bottle of orange 一瓶橘汁

a piece of paper 一张纸

a slice of bread 一片面包

如要表示两杯茶、四张纸这类概念时，在容器后加复数，如：

two cups of tea

两杯茶

four pieces of paper

四张纸

three glasses of water

三杯水

(4)表确定数量时,一般用“数词+量词+of+不可数名词。如：two/three/…+量词复数十of+不可数名词。

bag Of rice,two glasses Of milk,four bottles Of water

5.不可数名词无复数，作主语时常看成单数。如：Some bread__________over there.(be)

6.有些名词既可作可数名词也可作不可数名词，但词义有所不同。

eg： fruit水果——fruits表示不同种类的水果;food食物——foods各种食品;fish鱼——fishes鱼的种类;drink饮料、酒——a drink一杯/一份饮料、一杯酒; cloth布——,a cloth桌布、抹布; sand沙——sands沙滩; tea茶——a tea一杯茶;chicken鸡肉——a chicken小鸡;orange橘汁——an orange橘子; glass玻璃——a glass玻璃杯,glasses眼镜; paper纸——a paper试卷、论文;wood木头——a wood小森林;room空间、余地——a room房间

(三)名词的所xxx(表示人或物的所属关系)

(1) 有生命的名词所xxx以及表示时间、距离、城镇、国家等的名词所xxx。

today's newspaper 今天的报纸

ten minutes' walk 十分钟的路程

①不是以s结尾的名词变成所xxx时，在词尾加’s.

’s watch;Women’s Day

②以s结尾的名词变成所xxx时,只加’。

’office,students’rooms

③两个或两个以上名词并列,表示共同所有，只需在最后一个名词后加’s.

and Mike’s room汤姆和迈克的房间(表示汤姆和迈克共有一间房)

④两个或两个以上名词并列，表示分别所有，需在几个名词后都加’s.

’s and Jenny’s bikes玛丽和xxx的自行车(表示玛丽和xxx各自的'自行车)

在某些句子里，名词所xxx修饰的词，往往可以省略。

5.在表示店铺或教堂的名字或某人的家时，名词所xxx的后面常常不出现它所修饰的名词，如：the barber's 理发店。

What have you experienced this year? What have you learned from them? With every experience we face, there are important things to learn. We can either let these incidences paus by, or we can stop to understand, internalize them, and draw lessons from them. Life is your school, and the lessons are dressed up as your everyday incidences. You don’t want to be living year after year without learning from your experiences. That’s just sleepwalking your life away.

这一年，你经历了些什么?从中你又学到了些什么?我们面对的每一次经历，都有一些重要的东西值得学习，我们可能会让发生的这些事情就从我们的生命中匆匆而过，或者我们也可以选择停下来，理解并消化这些经历，从中学到经验教训。生活就是你的学校，这些经验教训会假扮成每天的琐事。你也不想年复一年只是过生活，却从不从经历中学到些什么吧，那样的话，你只是在梦游度日。

There are a lot of lessons which I learn every year. Looking back at my review for 2007, one of the biggest lessons I learned is that our reactions to life’s situations is a choice, and it’s up to how we make out of situations we encounter. This realization came after a highly intense period at my job. At that time I was already a positive person, but the situation was so out of control that it really made me negative. It was after a short period of feeling miserable that I realized that the reality was such and it was up to me to make the best out of it. I could either sit and bi-tc-h about it which would do absolutely nothing to change the situation, or I could take action and make the best out of it. This small shift in my mindset created a big shift in my reality – it made me a lot more proactive and solution-oriented. It made me realize that many of us generate unnecessary baggage with negative situations in life, and it’s all about taking action to create the lives that we want. Happineis truly a choice.

Because I would write down lessons I learned each time (in my life handbook), I could then build upon my learnings. Rather than deja vuing through life situations, every time I would think about how I could apply what I had learned earlier and how I could do something different. As a result, I kept moving forward in my growth.

Many things can happen in a year and this is the perfect time to wrap them up. Were there any ups and downs? Did you get a promotion? Did you recently quit your job and joined a new workplace? Did you just start up a business? Did you move to a new place? Did you just end an unhappy relationship? Did you move on from a bad partnership? Any major events took place? Or perhaps there are nothing significant that happened?

3. Regain focus

After working for a few years, you’d find that the years sort of just start to blend into each other. Soon it’s hard to tell one year apart from the next. Subsequently, it’s so easy to fall into a routine without being conscious of it. Sometimes I hear people commenting that they’re not sure what exactly they’ve been doing with the past few years of their lives, because everything just seems like the same.

工作了几年后你会发现，每年似乎开始有些混在一起的感觉，很难把它们区分开来。然后不知不觉，工作就很容易变成例行公事的老套路。有时候我会听到人们在说，不知道过去的几年具体都干了些什么，因为一切看起来都一样。

It’s just like driving. When you’re driving in a car, it can be hard to see where you are and where you’re heading to. On the other hand, pausing for a short moment to look at the map can be amazingly helpful. Where are you right now? How far have you traveled? Where do you want to go to? Doing so helps you to regain focus.

By mid-year I had already exceeded some of my goals, and now that it’s the end of the year, I’ve accomplished what I had set out to do at the beginning, and more.

What was the most significant storyline of 2011?

Mark Whitehead: Amid the Japanese tsunami and its commercial aftershocks, the New Zealand earthquake, squabbles with the Transportation Security Administration over deadlines to meet their heightened security requirements and the ongoing saga of surcharges, the dominant storyline for us in 2011 was falling tonnages on major routes — particularly those out of Hong Kong.

But we are not convinced that this swath of negative coverage is really justified — we feel there have been too many comparisons to 2010, leading to the impression that 2011 has turned out to be much worse than it should. In Hactl’s own case, we could fall farther and yet still beat our previous peak of 2007, which would be no small achievement.

2010 was a post-recession bounce fueled by global restocking, so it was always going to be hard to beat. But many in the air cargo industry thought 2010 was a sign of even better things to come and budgeted for incremental growth in 2011. They now have a major problem.

Ram Menen: The market slowdown is, obviously, the topic that has dominated the industry. But what is most remarkable about 2011 is the number and diversity of factors that contributed to the slowdown. Natural disasters, such as the tsunami in Japan and the Thai floods, were major events that not only impacted exports and imports in those countries directly, but also hit global supply chains. production lines in factories were halted due to the sudden shortage of vital components.

Economic instability has also been a significant issue, with the various crises across Europe and the politicalization of the deficit ceiling in the . all rocking consumer confidence. We also can’t forget the sustained high cost of fuel, which is an ongoing challenge for the air cargo industry. On the plus side, it was good to see the Boeing 747-8F enter service, while the Arab Spring heralds a new beginning for many businesses in the region and will stimulate international trade.

What lessons have you learned in 2011 that will help you have a successful 2012?

Menen: You can never trust forecasts. Old rules don’t apply, and the new rules haven’t been written. The industry is becoming less predictable every year, with more and more challenges arising. Of course, the price of oil is always something we have to contend with, but, worryingly, natural disasters seem to be happening at a more frequent rate, while increasingly more national economies are struggling. We are continually learning, and every challenge helps us become better prepared to manage whatever new challenges 2012 brings.

Whitehead: As a relative newcomer to this industry (I became Hactl’s managing director in September 2010), but a long-term observer of others while working at a senior level, I have quickly learned how sensitive air cargo is to the health of the global economy and how reactive it is to consumer demand.

Air cargo is a business that can boom in response to the release of a single, new piece of consumer technology (, the iphone 4, the latest playstation or the Kindle) or crash because fears of defaults in one small economy have threatened to upset the currency of 16 others. I now realize that the major strength of air cargo — its ability to respond to sudden changes in consumer demand — is also its major weakness.

I’m developing the view that any prediction in air cargo is pointless if it’s based only on a recent or short-lived trend (like the one displayed in 2010), rather than the extrapolation of a long-term picture that has been proven right by history. You could say that this risks missing the next major opportunity, but I don’t think so. It avoids the equally serious risk of assuming lots of additional overhead that could quickly become a millstone if predictions fall short.

History usually repeats itself, and long-term trends of the past, which incorporate past peaks and troughs, are a much better basis for predicting future trends. That alone is not enough, however. The trick is surely also to factor in additional growth from real prospects of business gains that are within your influence and consider the possible effects of any real or probable threats. But you must also accept that the short-term picture may still be impacted either positively or negatively by totally unforeseen events beyond our control. After all, that’s air cargo.
